UP FRONT
President Elect George Newsome presided over the December 8th meeting. The invocation and pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags were led by Vice President Mark Porterie. Janie Johnson reported no visiting Rotarians or guests and Past President Bill Coons gave the attendance report. Past President Ray Depwe led the club in singing "When The Saints Go Marchinf In".
FRIENDSHIP DOLLAR
Past President Bill Worsham had the Friendship Dollar and gave it to No. 7; Past President Jeff Hayes.
@SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Good news was reported by President Elect George Newsome, Past President Ed Boone, and Past President Jeff Hayes.
The annual Christmas Party will be on Thursday evening, December 15th at the Holiday Inn Park Central. Cocktails start at 6 p.m. The dinner and program will follow. Paul Harris Fellows are asked to please wear your Paul Harris pins or ribbons. The District Governor will be present at the Christmas Party. Photographs will be taken between 6:30-7:00 to update our roster book. The price will be $7.50 and will be added to your bill. If you would like to donate to the scholarship of the young lady that will be honored at the party, you may do so and it will be added to your bill also. The donation will be tax deductible. If the young lady decides not to use the scholarship, the money on hand will be transferred to the Mack Pond Endowment Fund and has about $50,000 in that fund so far and is a perpetual fund. There will be a choice of roast beef or stuffed flounder and there will a buffet.
Past President Roger Cowles told the club that this is 23rd year of the Holly Day Fund started by Past President Ray Depwe. It starts on Thanksgiving Day is sponsored by the Port Arthur News, the Retailed Merchants, and our Rotary Club. The Holly Day Fund has raised almost $200,000.
Past President Perry Snell, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, presented the officers and directors for our club for the Rotary Year 2012-13; President George Newsome; President Elect Mark Porterie, Vice President Russel Buss, Secretary-Treasurer Frank Cricchio, Director Kenneth Wiemers, Director Libby Arnold, Director Janie Johnson, Past President Craig Noble, and Ex-Officio Perry Snell. There was a motion and a second and it passed.

THURSDAY
Bridge City at the Community Center at noon.
FRIDAY

CHRISTMAS MUSIC PERFORMED BY LSCPA
MUSIC DEPARTMENT
Past President Sam Monroe introduced Dr. Kristel Pfeil Kemmerer, Chair of Commercial Music, Carl Richardson who is a member of the faculty, and Matt Lewis, who is a student at LSCPA. Mr. Richardson is a vocalist and teaches theory, sightsinging and applied bass; and also coaches two bands. He has performed with Barbara Lynn, Wayne Toups, Doug Kershaw, and has opened for Jerry Lee Lewis, The Neville Brothers, James Brown, Percy Sledge and many other artist. He has 13 years of professional experience in commercial styles. Mr. Lewis has been performing professional for 10 years on vocals and guitar. He is a Commercial at LSCPA. He currently performs locally with the group Burgundy Strut. Mr. Richardson and Mr. Lewis performed before the meeting and was our program bringing us Christmas Cheer through their musical talents. They played songs such as; "White Christmas", "Rockinf Around The Christmas Tree", "The Christmas Song", "Jingle Bells", "Let It Snow", "Winter Wonderland", "Jingle Bell Rock", and "Fly Me To The Moon".
